If someone can be bothered to make the paint job of their car match their house then I just have to take a photo of
it!

I guess these taxi drivers were hoping that there wouldn't be too many customers today!

OK Yesterday it was hot but today was even hotter! 32°C!
Whereas old pooches head for the shadows to sleep the residents of Enschede flock to the terraces - aka pubs. There were thousands of people, including entire family's, sat out on the bar
terraces around the market place this evening.
Everybody had one thing in common which was quite simply enjoying the weather. And you know what ..... The Cloggy Family were right in the middle them enjoying it as well.

Thank goodness for that! All Baby Cloggys have passed the year and tomorrow is the last official day of
school. We can now look forward to 6 weeks of sleeping in and not having to look at the clock. Bliss!
This evening was the Diploma Ceremony from the Oldest Baby Cloggy. To call it a ceremony is a bit overstated but I can't think of anything else.
The school had arranged for the event to be held in the church on the market place in Enschede. (http://www.vvvenschede.nl/). On arrival we were served
coffee and shown to our pews. The ceremony began and the Diplomas were handed out. All of the kids were dressed in baggy shorts and t-shirts or summer dresses and strappy sandals. They looked
like a scruffy bunch of beach bums but that's what the kids had arranged and I have to be honest it really didn't matter what they all wore because the church was full of very very proud parents
none the less.
After the ceremony had finished a trumpeter, who was hidden in the rafters of the church, performed a salute to which everyone ended up singing along too. The school had then arranged a
'borrel' (drinks reception). I can't say that I have been given a choice in what wine I wanted to drink in church ever before. Its normally the communion red stuff, but this evening I could
choose from red, white (sweet or dry) and rose. Cloggy was on the beer. It was a lovely event!
Congratulations to the Oldest Baby Cloggys Grandma and Grandpa and thanks for all of your support with the boy!
Here's a couple of pickys;

Today it reached a high of 31°C in our little corner of the Netherlands. For my American
friends (Hi Pamelia
) that's 87°F - more or less -which may not be considered hot where you are but here ITS DAMN HOT!
There wasn't even a gentle guff (of wind) blowing across from the German border.
There was only one sensible thing to do. Sit in the shade and sleep which is exactly what the Oldest Cloggy Pooch does best.

Due to the age of the Cloggy oldest Pooch (13) we have decided to have a 'Staycation' this year instead of a 'Vacation'.
The old mutt has been half way around the world with us, run over by cars on two separate occasions (both times with no injury - he rolled out from underneath and continued chasing the
offending automobiles) and broke his leg skateboarding, which left him with external pins in his leg for 4 months.
Now that may sound like a case for 'Animal Cops Houston' but I can assure you he is the most pampered and loved pooch in the world, he's just a wee bit accident prone is all and we think it
wouldn't be fair to dump him at the kennels in his twighlight years whilst we buggered orf to enjoy ourselves.
Anywawhoo back to the 'Staycation' thingy........
I was a bit worried that if we 'Staycationed' Cloggy would spend the entire 2 weeks holed up in his work shed "mending" stuff so I did a bit of digging around on the Internet for information
and found a gazillion pages or more to peruse through. I couldn't be arsed with reading any of them so I came up with a "bare-boned 3 point plan" of my own which I intend to put the
meat on over the next 2 weeks.
Firstly, I called my Aunt (the one that talks to ghosts) to see if she, or any of her brethren, had some insider info on the weather forecast.
"Its going to be the hottest summer since your Grandfather died" was her reply.
GREAT - WEATHER - HOT - CHECK!
Secondly, I had a bit of a think about what the Baby Cloggys like to do and one of their most favorite things in the world is splashing around in water. There was a
great deal on over-sized paddling pools at a local store so I went to have a look and came home with the showroom model.
GREAT - WATER - CHECK!
Thirdly, I went and had a chat with a very nice man at the tourist information centre in the village (you can see the link on the right hand side of my home page - VVV)
and came away with enough information on local activities and places to visit that could keep us busy for the entire summer let alone 2 weeks.
GREAT - DAYTRIPS - CHECK!
So there you have it, my 3 point starter plan for the Cloggy Family 'Staycation' 2009.
The paddling pool was assembled and filled up with water at the weekend and today the Baby Cloggys used it for the first time. After a few minutes I began to wonder if a
'Staycation' was such a good idea? Perhaps it would of been better if we had gone to the 'Costa del Sun' where at least they have health and safety codes that are enforced.
Take a look at the clip below to see the Cloggy cast of "Jackass"!
